It’s been about sixteen years and ten albums, and still Deerhoof hasn’t quite found their niche. For the group of those exceeding years certainly contributed to the eccentric creativity and style that Deerhoof seems to have a niche for producing . And for a band that has been rated and accredited by a modern wave of celebrated acts. I must point out that the grizzly bear’s, the dirty projector’s and the plaudit’s have always largely been respected and known for their sense of taste and style unlike Deerhoof.
So here we go on to the first listen of Deerhoof vs. Evil. I must say that it brings that sort of charm, and perplexity that at times only a mother could love because it’s producers persist in making it extremely difficult to fall in love with them. I mean my god as daring as they are it is downright ethical to consider them as aliens. But as generous as I am I will say out of sheer curiosity that their devotion to their craft is unbelievable persistent.
In other cases as we move along throughout this album I must say that it has a childlike atmosphere to it that breezes through songs such as “Must Fight Current” and “C-Moon”. But as we fall back into reality the album still is characterized by many “what made them do that moments”, and times where you are unsure of their musical intention that calls and demands for extreme concentration. So hopefully for our sake no one with attention deficit disorder will be listening in, for they will be greatly confused at times. But nonetheless Deerhoof vs Evil is still consider music in their own rights .
Growing year after year I have came to find that Deerhoof is profoundly persistent on doing things their own way for whatever reason that maybe. And I must say over a decade of time they deserve at least a handshake and possibly an honorable mention award. But that is my opinion and I must ask you what do you think?
